SPIGOLO VINCI - CENGALO
The legendary alpine ridge on the majestic Pizzo Cengalo
Spigolo Vinci isn’t just a climb — it’s a defining line in the granite skyline of the Central Alps. First climbed by Alfonso Vinci, one of Italy’s most visionary mountaineers and explorers, this ridge has become a cornerstone of alpine history.
Running along the elegant southeast edge of Pizzo Cengalo, the route draws a clean, natural line in the sky — sharp, exposed, and unmistakable. The climb alternates between steep, airy pitches and easier terrain, offering continuous engagement and dramatic views over the Valmasino landscapes.
Every pitch blends solid granite, clean movement, and a timeless alpine atmosphere. It’s a route that many have climbed — and nobody forgets.
If you come to Valmasino, don’t just admire the Cengalo skyline. Go and trace its edge.
If you enjoy long days in the mountains and don’t mind an early start, the full “Vinci Integrale” — nearly twice as long as the classic line — is an option we can explore together.
