Alpine 1 – Beginners
An entry level course that gives you all the fundamental to begin your mountaineering carrier as part of a more expert group. You won’t be ready yet to lead a group yet, but you’ll be independent and in case of emergency you’ll know what to do.
(in Italy we would say “You can cook your own pasta…without your mother’s help!”)
Equipment – Basics knots – Basic belaying techniques – Use of the crampons and axe – How to stop a fall on a snow slope – How to use ice-screws, how realize dead-man anchors and abalakovs (ice thread) – Crevasse rescue – Easy glacier trek – F/PD ascent

Alpine 2 – Intermediate
You already have some experience and want to become a group-leader?
That’s the right course: a bit of refresh of the Alpine 1 course is the base to go in deep in all the topics related to mountaineering: safety, self-rescue, technique, evaluation and orientation.
Sure, it’s not like a Mountain Guide training, but it should be enough to keep you alive in alpine terrain!
